History

King Graham walks a point-and-click kingdom in King's Quest V, Roberta Williams's Sierra adventure that moved the series to VGA graphics. Mordack the wizard has taken the royal family, and Crispin's wand is part of Graham's tools on the computer original.

Sierra's mouse-driven design and the painted VGA scenes date to 1990, with a desert, a yeti, and Mordack's castle. The computer game presents those scenes through the point-and-click interface.

The NES port is a notorious, stripped-down version of that computer adventure. Graham and Mordack remain, and the presentation that made the computer game famous does not survive intact.
