Wind-tossed platforms and new blades join Ryu's climb in Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos (1990) already. Cinema-style scenes still interrupt the action, the way Tecmo told the NES story.
The dark sword of the subtitle is the new threat, and gusts shove a jump off its line. Ryu Hayabusa returns with sword arts the first cartridge did not give him.
Tecmo kept the habit of a story scene, then a deadly corridor. Players cite the wind platforms when they separate this middle quest from the other two NES chapters.
Same series is the tight name match. Same franchise is the wider family. Same platform is other games on the systems named above.
