History

Square gave four orphans a full job system in Final Fantasy III (1990), and that Famicom game had no English release in its own era. Onion Kids change class at a shrine, and the new role rewrites their commands.

Black mages, dragoons, and other jobs are spell-and-gear kits, not costumes. A floating continent and a war with darkness give those jobs a world to cross, still in Japanese on the original cartridge.

The cartridge North America once called Final Fantasy III is actually VI. Anyone hunting the job shrine has to look for the Famicom original, not that later English number.
