History

Cloud Strife's Midgar job opens Final Fantasy VII (1997), Square's PlayStation leap into 3D, later on Nintendo Switch in its original form. Avalanche, Shinra, and the Mako reactors set the opening fight.

Materia sockets change spells, and limit breaks are the signature surges. Aerith, Tifa, Barret, and Sephiroth are the names the plot turns on.

A later remake is a different project with a different structure. This release is the original polygon version of that Midgar story.
