Stylus notes cross field scenes, battle scenes, and event scenes in THEATRHYTHM FINAL FANTASY, the rhythm game indieszero and Square Enix released in 2012. Characters from across the series stand together as a party. Numbered Final Fantasy quests, with their towns and world maps, are a different kind of game.
Battle stages throw enemies in with the notes, and a missed tap spends both the chain and hit points. Field stages are plainer walks along a road of beats. Event stages play back a remembered scene while the stylus keeps the melody's time.
Skills belonging to the party you assembled can fire in the middle of a song. Crystals, and a lengthening list of tunes, are the goals that last. A perfect chain feels nothing like a stage you barely survived, and the result screen says which of the two you earned.
indieszero built the touch-screen sessions together with Square Enix. Flicks, holds, and taps meet the icons sliding toward a line, and finishing a song pushes the collection forward.
Same series is the tight name match. Same franchise is the wider family. Same platform is other games on the systems named above.
First developer on the RAWG card: Square Enix, indieszero Co.
