A chosen partner walks behind the trainer, and Pokemon HeartGold is Game Freak's remake of Gold in which Johto leads on into Kanto. The Pokewalker counts real steps so the follower can gain experience away from the dual screen.
The Pokewalker pedometer carries that follower off the handheld for real steps. Gym badges in the first region are only half the map, because the original sequel's second land returns after the league.
Nintendo released the cartridge in 2009 as its own adventure, not as the older Gold cart. Apricorns, the safari return, and the sprite following on the overworld are the reasons trainers revisit Johto.
Same series is the tight name match. Same franchise is the wider family. Same platform is other games on the systems named above.
