Jupiter laid out two boards, Ruby and Sapphire, for Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire (2003), and Nintendo published the cartridge. Hit a Pokémon on the playfield to weaken it, then catch it with the ball, and keep playing if you want that catch to evolve. A rumble motor buried in the shell shakes the Game Boy Advance on the hits that matter.
The two tables do not share a layout. Ramps, sinkholes, and the spots where a wild Pokémon appears are arranged differently, so mastering one board leaves the other unsolved. Evolution gives a reason to protect a catch instead of treating every bumper as a pure score.
An earlier Pokémon pinball game used other tables and another roster. This pair is the Ruby board beside the Sapphire board, with the shaking hardware in the plastic. Jupiter's rules still depend on flippers: aim, strike, and live with the bounce you actually got.
Nintendo's single official cartridge holds both tables. The collection grows because the catch happens on the playfield, not in a quiet menu. Miss the flipper and the evolution you were building rolls away down the drain.
Same series is the tight name match. Same franchise is the wider family. Same platform is other games on the systems named above.
