Alex, and new endings gathered around the Womb of Grief, reshape the expedition in Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux, the remake Atlus made with Lancarse in 2018. The Schwarzwelt, the dungeon that swallowed a whole region, is still the place you crawl. The original Strange Journey on the earlier handheld remains its own release.
Battles are first-person and resolved in turns, with demons fused out of a growing compendium. Law, chaos, and a neutral reading of the disaster keep tugging the crew apart. The Womb of Grief is a dungeon added in this version, and walking it changes which conclusions can be reached.
Alex moves through the plot as a person the first expedition never met, and her presence is tied to those new endings. Gun commands share a list with demon skills, so the human crew is not helpless against whoever lives in the Schwarzwelt. Sector maps, each with its own environment, account for half of the forward progress.
Atlus and Lancarse share the credit for building the remake. An ending arrives only after the investigation has gone far enough for the alignment choices and the Womb of Grief to count.
