Shanoa absorbs glyphs for weapons and spells in Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia. Koji Igarashi's 2008 DS action RPG was the last of the handheld search-action Castlevanias before the series changed direction.
Villagers of Wygol can be rescued, and a glyph combination changes whether Shanoa swings a blade or calls a spell. The map is a set of locations rather than one uninterrupted castle corridor.
