History

A tilt sensor inside the cartridge steers Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble, the HAL and Nintendo toy from 2000 that makes you pitch the whole handheld. That gimmick is the game, because a directional pad never replaces the sensor.

Marble-like courses ask you to roll Kirby up ramps and away from holes. Tip too hard and the pink ball leaves a cloud path.

Later Kirby games rarely ask you to physically pitch the hardware this way. The cartridge itself is the joystick.
