Branching missions make METAL SLUG 3 the 2000 run-and-gun SNK fans still call a high point of the arcade line. Marco and the squad ride new vehicles, drown in zombies, and end in a place the earlier slug games never reached, and a motion-console release later brought that Neo Geo game over.
Paths fork so a second credit is a different route, not only a harder copy of the first. The slug tank is still the joke and the shelter, but the branches are why this chapter is the one arcades pointed at.
