Underwater fights against Lagiacrus define Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Capcom's expanded village-and-port hunt on the handheld. Moga's beaches send the early quests, and Port Tanzia opens once the contracts grow larger. The release meant here is that handheld edition, separate from the Wii game Monster Hunter Tri.
Swimming shortens weapon strings and makes height part of every swing. The limiter is the awkward reach of each weapon in the water, more than a simple breath meter. Desert, forest, and volcano maps remain for hunters who want stone under their boots.
Armor skills, trap parts, and meal buffs are prepared in the village or at the port before leaving. The two hubs keep different shops and different request lists. Capturing a creature is still an alternative to carving it where it fell.
Capcom carried this generation's sea-serpent ecology onto the handheld, along with local groups for hunters who wanted company. The pace is still one quest at a time, with a loadout standing between you and the target.
Same series is the tight name match. Same franchise is the wider family. Same platform is other games on the systems named above.
The series list above is the whole family set in this catalog.
