Rare brought DK, Diddy, Tiny, Lanky, and Chunky to Donkey Kong 64, and the cartridge demands the Expansion Pak. Each Kong has a color of banana and a set of moves, so a door that refuses Diddy may open for Lanky.
The 1999 collect-a-thon follows the Country series into 3D rather than porting the arcade barrels. King K. Rool's island hides blueprints, golden bananas, and a switch that only one Kong's instrument can strike.
It is not a climbing remake of the coin-op. The five Kongs, the colored fruit, and the Expansion Pak requirement are the cartridge's own terms.
Same series is the tight name match. Same franchise is the wider family. Same platform is other games on the systems named above.
The series list above is the whole family set in this catalog.
