Rare's Donkey Kong Land is a Game Boy companion to Donkey Kong Country, with its own stages squeezed from pre-rendered artwork. This 1995 trek is separate from the Super Nintendo game it echoes.
Donkey and Diddy still roll and jump, but the barrels, ropes, and cave rooms were drawn for the small screen. The shaded look tries to suggest Country's renders inside a monochrome cartridge.
Country's maps stay on the Super Nintendo. Land is a parallel hike, not a shrunken copy of those same boards.
Same series is the tight name match. Same franchise is the wider family. Same platform is other games on the systems named above.
The series list above is the whole family set in this catalog.
