History

Tournament brackets share a roster with character growth in Mario Tennis (2000). A trainable backhand stays with one athlete across the bracket. Camelot's Nintendo 64 game mixes cup tennis with stats that change how a fighter covers the court, and a separate Game Boy Color game uses the same title for a school story.

Waluigi's twisted swing and Peach's reach are readable before any stat screen. The charge shot still ends a rally, but the growth system asks a player to stay with one athlete across events.

The color handheld's rookie campaign is not this cartridge. Home-console brackets and the trainable roster are the Nintendo 64 mix.
