History

Nintendo sold Panel de Pon in the West as Tetris Attack, a rising-stack match puzzle restyled around Yoshi. Tetrominoes never fall, and the Western cartridge arrived in 1995.

Blocks push up from below, and swapping two neighbors to align three or more clears them. Yoshi and his island friends replace the fairies of Japanese Panel de Pon.

A cursor and a swap are the whole move. Falling four-block pieces belong to Tetris, a different puzzle whose name this cart borrowed.
