Hang gliders and underwater driving arrived with Mario Kart 7, Nintendo's kart racer for the stereoscopic handheld. Coins on the asphalt raise top speed, an older idea restored when the 2011 cups added air and water on Nintendo 3DS.
Glider pads launch the kart, and submerged sections use their own handling. Neo Bowser City, Wuhu Island, and a revived Kalimari Desert share the roster of tracks.
A first-person camera sits among the view options. Those air and water sections are the gimmicks this handheld entry added.
Same series is the tight name match. Same franchise is the wider family. Same platform is other games on the systems named above.
