A cat suit and clear courses set a pace closer to side-scrolling Mario than to a sandbox, and Super Mario 3D World is Nintendo's four-player run of those boards. The Super Bell's climb lets a cat Mario scratch up a wall a normal jump in the Sprixie kingdom cannot reach.
Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad each move differently, and the Super Bell turns a hero into a climber who scratches up walls. Captain Toad's no-jump dioramas hide between the longer stages.
The 2013 original and the later hybrid-console edition share this adventure. That later edition adds Bowser's Fury as an extra story rather than replacing the Sprixie kingdoms.
Same series is the tight name match. Same franchise is the wider family. Same platform is other games on the systems named above.
